It's looks like you have wrong assumptions about liberal philosophy. In liberal philosophy, price of human life is set to infinity, thus price of life of any individual (even worthless ones) is equal to price of life of any group (even top of the top).
However, unlike anarchy, any harm to human life is very costly (because value of human life is infinite!), for example: killing of someone, suicide, death because of incompetence or laziness, or self damage because of self medication, etc. are «sins» for libertarians.
A lot happened before those two bombs were dropped, so how would you articulate your stance about those I wonder? Axis and Allies were bombing each other all over the place. Plenty of cities (in Japan, since you hyper focused on the nuclear bombs) were devastated and wrought with bombings before.
Is it? I prefer to tackle problems at the source, and its crystal clear that overseas scammers are exploiting corrupt local law enforcement in conjunction with easy access to targets via the Internet and shady telephone providers.
I just want to say that I read this whole thread and while I'm not entirely sure i agree with you politically I think this statement is amazing and very well said.
That specific example seems sorta yikes opinion for somebody with hiring power. Aren't people who get targeted by MLMs victims? More importantly, what does that say about how hard they work? Or being a mom?
It‘s a stereotype for the sake of a stereotype. I don‘t think anyone identifies with such a narrow unrealistic stereotype, so there is no point in arguing for an entirely hypothetical marginalized group.
By the way, hiring is all about judging people‘s past work, and I‘m sorry to pop your bubble if you think past MLM work or having large gaps in your employment history doesn‘t reflect bad on anyone.
Probably a better compromise is stainless press-style fittings. The tools are going to be much too expensive for the average homeowner plumbing needs, but they work out in the commercial sector or for professional plumbers.
MegaPress and ProPress are a couple of popular brands.
The also have an advantage that they avoid "hot work" in places where it leads to greater regulation / stringent safety precautions.
