Surely they are not benefiting if people don't use their website because their browser is not supported

They're forcing the use of their browser.

Not sure I understand the problem. Are people just letting AI do anything? I use Claude Code and it asks for permission to run commands, edit files, etc. No need for sandbox

Yes, people very much are, and that's exactly the problem! People run `claude --dangerously-skip-permissions` and `codex --yolo` all the time. And I think one of the appeals of opencode (besides cross-model, which is huge) is that the permissions are looser by default. These options are presumably intended for VM or container environments, but people are running them outside. And of course it works fine the first 100 times people do it, which drives them to take bigger and bigger risks.

I read the article and it's still not clear to me how they are trying to solve the bottlenecks they talk about

After reading their main page I saw that they are just another provider of CI that claims to be faster. Not sure about others but to me the problem with CI/CD has never been that it's slow. The painful points are setting it up and getting it to work. Once that's done everything after it's not that painful

The fun of the job is building a piece of software that's beautifully written. It's a way of expressing yourself

Or just scan all GitHub repos, find their .toml definition. Calculate the median and then add 7 days to that. That way you are always behind.

What about the minimize and maximize buttons being swapped without any way to customize it. That one drives me crazy.

What do you mean swapped?

That usually, maximize is next to the close button and all buttons are usually on the right side of the window bar

Oh that's just how it is on Windows though. Seems like on mac the minimize button provides a buffer between maximize and close. I'd rather accidentally minimize if I'm trying to maximize than close the window

Come to kde, you can customise everything

Redirect their DNS through pihole

That will not fix changing networks which will change your dns provider.

In android you can set up "private DNS" and the IP you put there will be used in any network, WiFi and mobile

It doesn't matter who you talk to. If a person were to talk to you into starting a silly business would you also fall for that?

I think this is just the kind of people that fall for scams. It's not AI related, it's just not knowing how to navigate the current world.

I might fall for a dumb business venture, but I wouldn't punch my father in law while doing so. Something else is at play.

It's common to give snacks to your pet. In the US and anywhere

Did your state chip your pet or was it a private company? I think they are saying that there are no centralized authorities and you depend on private companies

https://www.petlink.net/microchip-search/

It seems the various chip companies share registry data, doesn't have to be state run.
