It's probably true. However, if it's true that facebook is earning from yahoo's properties, I think they have the right (and probably should too) to sue facebook
This happened to a page that my former classmates made too. It was made up of pictures of people in the community that they think weren't helping. It didn't get much popularity though. But it got shut down by facebook too. They later on found out that several people reported them using the "report/block" button. These people are relatives of the people that they posted funny topics about. They couldn't do anything about it.
On a related note, maybe the people who deserve to be reported are the likes of Justin Bieber. See
Bieber tweets a phone number, except the last digit. Real people driven mad

Maybe it would be better for people to really research on the causes of organizations. with the org running the this KONY 2012 movement, only 31% of the earnings/donations actually go to the kids of Uganda.
This would do it. But I suppose that some people still keep their myspace accounts, or worse yearbook accounts. And those things can be searched via Google.
Also, deleting these accounts does not assure complete invisibility on the net. If you've used your account to comment on a public facebook account or page, there is no assurance that deleting your account would delete that post too.
Also, I think, the author would like you to keep pushing for whatever it is that you desire. Because really, it's impossible to not succeed when you just go for it.
