Definitely one of my all time favorites. I keep an iPad Mini 1st Gen around just for it. Sad that the sequel no longer works once their server went down.
They did my personal taxes one year, part of a larger corporate benefits deal. I was late and claimed I lost access to their online filing tool (stupid excuse). Instead of giving me a new account or password reset after 5 minutes the associate brought me a piece of paper ... with my password on it. Same I used for my emails, definitely one I set in the past. They stored it in plain text with plenty of people having access. I was shocked.
Maybe I'm just old at this point, but I honestly thought this was a reference to Inkscape which had it's v1.0 about a year ago, and I became very confused.
Just wanted to quickly add that I am in no way trying to steal the thunder from this news, just referencing where my brain had gone.
All that aside, this looks like an incredible language to use for some of my own projects. I have always been a fan of text based adventures, and have played MUD's off and on for at least 25 years at this point. Maybe I can put this language to good use. :)
Why didn’t the integrated circuit happen before Bob Noyce and his team released it when we had been using all the raw components in some form for a long time?
Things aren’t required to occur 100% of the time just because the raw bits are there. Sometimes these things take time.
Uh, does the author never update their “old” computer? The article makes it seem like the only time they update software packages is by doing a fresh install with a new computer.
