There was this Finnish kid who didn't agree with all that who put out his crappy little OS called Linux:

And from that point forward us 'hobbyists' had access to more serious operating systems than bootlegged Xenix or QnX copies.

Minix always felt like a toy, nice but not quite unix.



If Linus didn't accidentally reformat his Minix partition, history would take another path.
