When I was a kid in the 1970’s and early 80’s, my grandparents would drive 100’s of miles along I-95 to visit us from Florida and arrive with the grille and windshield of their car absolutely splattered with bug corpses. You can make that same drive today without killing a fly.

Side note: We also used to see long caravans of migrating birds flying south in the fall. Thousands of them at least, traveling overhead in a steady stream for 15 minutes or more.
