It's wild to see this post surface on HN - three years ago I was researching Purple brand beds and stumbled across OP's blog post about their build. The content ended up being what pushed my wife to "OK, fine" from "Not on your life." And we ended up giving the Purple a try. (It didn't work out, but still wild how this comes full circle)
