The thing is, it really did take about 10 minutes, but they weren't consecutive. Yeah, it's a bit of a smartass comment, but also true.

Some people really can be as productive (or close to it) doing 6 10 minute tasks in an hour, switching every few minutes between those 6. To them, they still just spent 10 minutes on each task, and they're oblivious to the fact that not everyone's work can be sliced around like that with the same degree of quality that theirs can.



Doing (starting and finishing) six discreet tasks in an hour is not too difficult. Obviously those tasks are not very taxing.

What is hard if you have one four hour task, and one task that requires your attention every fifteenth minute. It completely ruins the four hour task.


The hardest part is making sure no one finds out about all them, and that information doesn't leak between those discreet tasks. Indiscretions are killer.


Sorry. It was late. I obviously meant discrete, even though I didn't know about that difference (in my native language "discreet" has both meanings).
