Bear in mind that this is Dmitry Medvedev, who constantly says extreme things that don't reflect Russia's actual foreign policy (but are useful for intimidating the weak-willed into submission). Before this gem he was the primary nuclear saber-rattler.

He's a scarecrow, nothing more.

Stupid! Me, as born Russian, start shaking my head in the morning and stop when falling asleep.

Why can't Putin just stfu his barking dogs. One thing is being at war (starting a war) because of some reasons, other thing is to pour oil into the fire.

One thing I learned in life is to let your enemies look dumb. The art of war is to keep your enemies behind you and being a step ahead in any situation, but not to bark when you should be quiet.

And now, with drones coming at Kremlin.. lol.. friends of my living abroad and having families there (obviously Russians) where in the beginning like "it's not goodx, but it can be understood why" are now like having their *sses cold grounded.

Who is setting fire should consider his own home to be burned.

STUPID 150%

Putin likes his barking dogs. They get to say the things that make you say, "They wouldn't... but if they did..."

Russia has a long history of taking deception in war to the extremes. They spew falsehoods so fast that you begin to doubt that truth is even a thing. It's all a distraction.

Not even they know how effective the distraction is. Smart politicians say "Attacking me would provoke a massive NATO response and obviously they won't". The Russians don't honestly expect him to lose even a minute of sleep over it.

But now you and I are here discussing it, and so are many others. It will be quickly forgotten, but it will be yet another thing on the pile. Many people will have a half-formed memory of it. Does it help Russia? Who knows. But.

So they are now tightroping with declarations of war.
